Mogotlho Safari Lodge offers guests an unforgettable African safari experience. Their tented lodges are nestled in the heart of the Mababe and Khwai area, surrounded by abundant wildlife, incredible views and the quiet of the African bush. I really relished the opportunity to shoot a few new images for this game lodge, as it combined two of my passions - interior photography and wildlife! The photoshoot was both an absolute pleasure and a challenge. Nothing beats the early morning atmosphere in the African bush, with a chill in the air and the sun drenching the surroundings in golden light. I made sure to be at the main lodge early in the morning to start shooting during this golden hour, which was just beautiful. As this was not a "staged" photoshoot, I had to discreetly work around the guests at the lodge, which complicated the shoot, but also gave me the chance to feel the atmosphere of a lodge full of guests. As I worked I decluttered, arranged and straightened furniture, books and decorative items that were shifted by guests, so that the final images would look like the interior was staged for the shoot in the first place. Now and then I just had to go ahead and take the shot, knowing that I would have to clone out a vehicle or person during post-processing in order to produce a clean inviting marketing image. Brendon and Andrew are wonderful hosts that attended to all the guests needs and made me feel like part of the family. They even offered me to join in a game drive, which I sadly had to decline, as I was there to shoot their lodge photos, not wildlife images. Brendon and Andrew - I hope to be back at Magotlho Safari Lodge sometime soon, perhaps this time to shoot your wildlife images for your social media campaigns.
